Episode 66 - A gut-based approach to ADHD, eczema & allergies with GAPS Coach Emma Goodwin

Eczema, allergies, autoimmunity, picky eating, and attention, learning and behavioural challenges seem par for the course for kids nowadays.

If you struggle with any of these with your children, know you are far from alone.

But perhaps even more reassuring is that even if this is your current reality, it doesn’t have to continue to be.

In this episode of Wild and Well, I’m joined by certified GAPS coach Emma Goodwin, for an eye-opening conversation about gut health, picky eating, and the deep connection between food and our physical and emotional wellness.

For parents navigating challenges like ADHD, allergies, picky eating, or behavioural and health challenges in their kids, this episode offers a thoughtful look at what might be going on beneath the surface.

Emma and I chat about:

  • What GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) is and how it supports the body and brain
  • How gut health impacts mood, behavior, attention, learning, health and more
  • Why picky eating, eczema, and behavioral challenges are gut-related
  • How to replenish minerals and why so many of us are depleted
  • Why food should be our supplements
  • The signs the body gives us when we are something’s off
  • Why meat stock and protein are foundational for healing
  • Why real, lasting change starts with empowered parents – and how the whole family can benefit from a GAPS approach
  • Simple, nourishing meal ideas even picky eaters can enjoy

Emma Goodwin is a certified GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) Coach whose personal journey through chronic health struggles, family illness, and motherhood led her to discover the healing power of food. After finding life-changing answers in Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride’s book Gut and Psychology Syndrome, Emma transformed her family’s health and now helps others do the same. Trained directly by Dr. Natasha, Emma combines lived experience with expert guidance to support families navigating ADHD, eczema, allergies, behavioural challenges, and more – through nourishing, gut-healing food. She believes deeply in the body’s ability to heal.
